About The Position

A high performing global Finance team supporting Lam Research's Chief Technology Officer organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation driving enterprise-level initiatives in sustainability, AI, and pathfinding. The Finance Manager will support how innovation is funded, measured, and scaled—while safeguarding financial discipline and trust. You’ll play a pivotal role in enabling the CTO organization to make smarter, value-driven R&D investments. This role offers the opportunity to shape the financial strategy of R&D investments, directly support innovation outcomes, and act as a trusted advisor to business and technical leaders—while maintaining end-to-end financial stewardship for the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree or equivalent certification (MBA, CPA, CFA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) with 8+ years’ of progressive FP&A or analytical experience, including strategic business partnering, value/ROI analysis, and end‑to‑end consolidation ownership.
  • Strong strategic finance and business‑partnering background supporting R&D, engineering, or innovation‑driven organizations, with solid knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to operate independently, manage complexity, and proactively drive improvements in processes, analytics, and metrics.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders without authority, work effectively in a matrixed, global environment, and partner across international teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment or similar high technology industry.
  • Background in R&D portfolio management or innovation investment governance.
  • Experience leveraging AI and advanced analytic tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP and workday adaptive to evaluate and prioritize investment decisions.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key advisor to the CTO, R&D leadership, and CTO Controller, providing guidance and insight into all financial matters impacting the organization.
  • Deliver forward‑looking business partnership and value analysis to enable informed investment decisions across R&D programs, portfolio strategy, and long‑term technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure financial integrity, compliance, and operational rigor through budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that support Lam’s strategic and corporate objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders and initiative owners to deliver financial transparency, strategic insights, and disciplined execution across enterprise priorities.
  • Provide financial leadership that drives impactful decisions across R&D and enterprise initiatives.
  • Serve as lead finance partner to R&D leaders, providing strategic analysis and supporting investment decisions across the R&D lifecycle.
  • Own end‑to‑end FP&A and consolidation for the CTO organization, including budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and oversight of global operating expenses across diverse OCTO business units.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights to leadership through analysis and modeling, supporting long‑range planning and capital allocation decisions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, partnering with Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Audit teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and governance, fostering a culture of accountability and value creation across R&D.
  • Work closely with an international team, ensuring effective collaboration.
