About The Position
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a Financial Aid Verification Analyst. This role is crucial for maintaining federal compliance and serving students by facilitating the financial aid verification process in a timely, compliant, and compassionate manner. Approximately 75% of all UNLV students receive financial aid totaling $275 million annually. The position is part of Academic Affairs and contributes to the core mission of increasing enrollment and promoting equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support. The role is expected to exemplify the university's core values, demonstrating professionalism, collegiality, ethical conduct, transparency, and a commitment to inclusion. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary, and occasional travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- 1 – 3 years of Related Professional Experience
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

- A Master’s degree may be substituted for 1 year of work experience.
Responsibilities
- Communicating with students about the verification process
- Collecting required documents as needed
- Reviewing submitted documents to ensure student Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information is accurate, and making FAFSA corrections as needed
- Relaying any impacts of verification on student financial aid packages to students, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS) staff, and other constituents
