About The Position

The Financial Aid Representative (Temporary, Part-Time) is responsible for document collection and counseling students on their potential aid eligibility to help cover tuition costs. This consists of, but is not limited to, guiding students through relevant documents and/or applications, calculating eligibility, setting up of aid, and communicating to students on how aid impacts their education. Schedule: Part-time, onsite role with great midday hours! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service for students and staff
  • Ability to field a high volume of incoming calls (call center)
  • Provide consistent outreach to all unpackaged students
  • Respond to all communication (voicemail, email, IM) within 24 business hours
  • Communicate with students in a professional manner
  • Foster an engaged working relationship with institution counterparts
  • Counsel’s students, parents, and other interested parties on the availability of financial aid programs
  • Understands what programs are available and the requirements for each
  • Be able to articulate technical topics in a relatable fashion
  • Explores and explains all relative options
  • Pursues understanding over delivery of information
  • Is a steward of the Student Finance Department; Keep sensitive information safe and secure
  • Successfully implementing new procedures
  • Analyze and calculate awards accurately
  • Collect and store appropriate documents
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
