About The Position

Coordinates the administration and processing of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs to ensure accurate awarding, eligibility review, and compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies. Manages assigned program workflows, resolves student file issues, processes reports and certifications, and supports scholarship and aid fund utilization. Collaborates with campus partners and external agencies or donors to facilitate the timely and accurate delivery of financial aid services while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years work-related experience
  • Experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis, with six (6) years of professional office experience qualifying in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, administer and process assigned financial aid programs, including awarding, eligibility determination, and maintenance of program records; ensure timely and accurate execution of program requirements across multiple funding sources; maintain consistent application of established policies and procedures; recommend program/system enhancements or modifications; prepare forms, reports, or other program/system documents.
  • Review program-specific reports; evaluate documentation; communicate with students and resolve issues in compliance with federal and institutional guidelines; ensure accurate updates in student information systems; make recommendations related to state and other scholarship budget projections and assist in budget preparation.
  • Counsel students, parents and/or system users on designated policies, procedures, and processes; perform and supervise forms processing for applicable program/system; maintain records, statistics and/or user documentation or manuals for student information systems.
  • Prepare written communications, including reports which may be necessary to communicate program/system information, procedures, or changes. Stay abreast of all legislation, regulation and other policy changes related to designated programs.
  • Perform research and analysis to resolve problems and/or issues and recommend solutions to supervisor, or solve problematic issues and keep supervisor advised, as directed.
  • May implement, administer, and maintain requirements for the UW Scholarship System; manage assessment and cycling of system; test system updates for compliance; review data processes for accuracy.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in training and other professional development activities.
  • Represent Student Financial Services and assist in the development of new staff training.
