About The Position

Provides technical and fiscal reporting support to the financial aid office and serves as a member of the Executive Director’s leadership team. Provides administrative, technical and supervisory support in the management flow of Federal Direct Loans, Parent (PLUS) and other agency loans.

Requirements

Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) of college coursework in any discipline, or its proportional equivalent (e.g., 120 semester hours for a Bachelor's Degree).
Two (2) years (24 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.
One (1) year (12 months) of supervisory experience in higher education, student services, or closely related setting.
Thorough knowledge of FSA software and internet applications (e.g., EdConnect, COD, SAIG, Partner Portal, Knowledge Center, NSLDS).
Thorough knowledge of all types of student loan program eligibility including Federal Perkins, Federal Direct, Graduate PLUS, Parent and private loans.

Nice To Haves

Work experience managing office, business, or customer service/relations activities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the electronic transmission of Direct Loan data as well as the supervision of staff that assists with that effort.
Responsible for determining student eligibility for both Federal Direct and private loan programs.
Responsible for returning any funds to the U.S. Department of Education FSA and private lenders when and if a borrower is determined to be ineligible.
Responsible for computer systems support, including coordination of daily maintenance and retrieving information for reporting.
Serves as a resource person for implementing system-based solutions to financial aid programs, including monitoring loan limits, program length. Curriculum Instruction Program (CIP) codes.
Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.
