About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Financial Aid IT Systems Analyst to join the Office of Financial Aid & Student Employment. This role is crucial for managing and maintaining core financial aid processes within Campus Solutions, administering and reconciling funds, and overseeing financial aid computer programs and office technology resources. The position is responsible for the proper operation of software that awards and disburses over $110 million in financial aid to approximately 9,000 students. This role requires strong knowledge of Federal Financial Aid, database management, information technology, and data analysis, with a critical understanding of federal and state regulations for accurate aid administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience with databases or information technology on a year-for-year basis).
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education.
  • Knowledge of Federal Financial Aid.
  • Strong emphasis in database management, information technology, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of federal and state regulations for financial aid administration.
  • Competency with constituent information systems, preferably Oracle Campus Solutions.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and maintains the UCCS portion of the Financial Aid module in Campus Solutions, ensuring correct configuration and testing modifications.
  • Assists with database support for the BlackBaud Scholarship program and its integration to the Campus Solutions Student Information System (CU-SIS).
  • Responsible for required sign-offs for the UCCS Financial Aid module and adjustments to systemic processes.
  • Supports query development and reporting requests using tools like PSQuery (SQL) and IBM Cognos.
  • Identifies and supports solutions to complex problems and issues related to constituent information systems, preferably Oracle Campus Solutions.
  • Ensures successful file transmission and data integrity for federal student aid processes, including federal loan and grant programs.
  • Schedules and runs fundamental financial aid programs (packaging, disbursement, ISIR load, satisfactory academic progress, federal program origination and reporting, electronic student communications) and ensures their correct operation.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the CommGen (3C) back-up, maintaining and creating these processes.
  • Utilizes technology to create and improve financial aid processing.
  • Maintains secure servers and workstations for the financial aid office, including software and hardware resources, and provides desktop support.
  • Develops and maintains in-house reports using Peoplesoft Query, SQL, XML Publisher, Cognos, and other reporting tools for data quality assurance and user consumption.
  • Hires, supervises, trains, and collaborates with student employees to support departmental needs.
  • Serves as the liaison to other CU financial aid offices and acts as the main point of contact for system adjustments and approvals of core systemic changes.
  • Represents financial aid and UCCS in meetings with staff from other offices and campuses, participating in decision-making processes.
