About The Position

As a Financial Aid Counselor, you'll play an essential role in helping students and families navigate one of the most important aspects of the college experience - making a Notre Dame education possible. As one of the first people students and families connect with, you'll provide knowledgeable guidance, compassionate support, and exceptional service throughout their financial aid journey. In this dynamic role, no two days are the same. You'll counsel students and families on educational costs, financial aid programs, and University policies while serving as a trusted resource for questions and problem-solving. You'll manage key aspects of the financial aid process, from reviewing eligibility and verifying documentation to packaging aid and ensuring accurate, timely disbursement of funds. Beyond student support, you'll contribute to the success of the Office of Financial Aid through a variety of operational and technical responsibilities. You'll collaborate with campus partners, support specialized program areas such as student employment, athletics, and loan processing, maintain critical documentation and procedures, and leverage systems like OnBase and Slate CRM to enhance efficiency and improve the student experience. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, enjoys solving complex problems, communicates with empathy and professionalism, and is passionate about helping students achieve their educational goals.
