About The Position

Responsible for providing guidance, explaining policies, and helping to secure the necessary funding for students to attend college. The Financial Aid Advisor will guide students and parents through the financial aid process, including the completion of relevant forms such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). They will inform and educate students and parents about different types of financial aid available, such as scholarships, grants, and loans. The role involves communicating with students about their financial aid package and any adjustments that may occur, and assisting students with loan applications, entrance and exit counseling, and debt management. This position requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and regulations, and coordinating with other departments such as admissions and registrar’s offices to ensure accuracy in student records. The advisor will help students understand the implications of their financial decisions, promoting responsible borrowing, and respond to all student communication (email/phone calls) within 24 to 48 hours. Additionally, the role includes conducting scheduled appointments with new and continuing students and delivering financial aid presentations and workshops for prospective and current students.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Previous experience in financial aid counseling or a related field is preferred
