About The Position

In this entry level role Financial Aid Advisor will have the opportunity to make a difference by uploading and scanning student documents and providing individual counseling to current and prospective students and parents regarding financial aid eligibility, while providing quality customer service. A Financial Aid Advisor performs at a entry level in all core competencies of the position and possesses the following skills; good communicator, organizational, administrative, technology, time management skill sets, and knowledge of federal/state regulation as they are all essential to the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • 0-3 Years of Industry related experience
  • 2 Years of Administration experience
  • Dedicated to providing an exceptional student experience
  • Experience in a professional outbound call center
  • Passion for financial aid, education, and continuous learning environment
  • Possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve life’s goals
  • Ability to understand and appreciate students and co-workers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and Saturdays
  • Basic Microsoft Office and CRM experience
  • Proficiency with technology and student management systems

Responsibilities

  • Scan all financial Aid documents into CVUE
  • Confirm all Financial Aid appointment settings
  • Assists Admissions Team with prospective students by pre-qualifying potential students and accessing NSLDS for Title IV eligibility and determining dependency status.
  • Assist with the completion of the FAFSA, and determines eligibility for Title IV Federal Aid programs, and inputs financial aid awards into CampusVue system.
  • Ensures that awarded financial aid is packaged in accordance with Title IV regulations in regards to disbursement dates, verification completed if applicable and appropriately disbursed and credited to the students' account; identifies problems related to award delivery and communicates with the appropriate individual or department for resolution.
  • Assist with financial aid workshops or outreach programs for students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Complete Exit interview.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in classrooms during scheduled orientations and/or contacting students in regards to financial aid matters such as paperwork needed, payments, etc.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
