About The Position

Bryant & Stratton College is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Advisor for its Richmond - Chesterfield Campus. This is an in-person, 40-hour work week, non-exempt position. The role involves providing customer service to internal and external customers through phone, email, and in-person interactions. The advisor will counsel students and parents on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, student budget development, and debt management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required in related field.
  • Skills in planning, prioritizing, problem solving, scheduling, evaluating, and organizing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and work with diverse groups.
  • Strong technological skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are a must.
  • Must thrive on working in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where attention to detail is a must.
  • Must possess a drive for excellence.
  • Background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Title IV highly preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and customer driven environments is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently package, award, and advise students on financial aid, with a combination of in-person and virtual appointments utilizing Microsoft Teams.
  • Completing all steps in the process in a timely manner.
  • Interpret regulatory criteria, standards, policy, and procedures to meet compliance requirements.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all student financial aid programs administered by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining working relationships with other departments on campus to achieve enrollment and retention goals.
  • Manage financial aid document retention and archives.
  • Maintain file accuracy for active and inactive students.
  • Actively participate to ensure timely delivery of assistance and services given to students, mostly via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face on-campus.
  • Prepare student accounts for payments, graduation, and withdrawals.
  • Balance demands for student entrance with regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
