About The Position

Grimes & Company Wealth Management is an independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm serving high-net-worth individuals and families across the country. Recently recognized as one of the 2025 Best RIAs to Work For, we are continuing to grow and are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to join our collaborative advisory team. This position is being created as part of a planned retirement transition for a senior Financial Advisor. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the retiring advisor during a structured transition period and ultimately assume responsibility for an established book of business. This role offers immediate access to an existing client base, long-term relationship management opportunities, and the ability to build upon a strong foundation of trust and service. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) required
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients and delivering fiduciary-level advice
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, investment management, and wealth strategy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
  • Relationship-driven, highly organized, and collaborative mindset
  • Successful completion of background and credit check

Nice To Haves

  • CFP® designation strongly preferred
  • Series 65 license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a planned succession process with a retiring Financial Advisor, ensuring a seamless transition of client relationships and assets under management while assuming primary responsibility for an established book of business.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships by understanding clients' goals, risk tolerance, and financial priorities, while delivering customized financial and investment strategies aligned with their long term objectives.
  • Guide clients through retirement planning, investment management, estate considerations, and wealth preservation strategies to help them achieve their financial goals.
  • Partner closely with internal experts across investments, retirement planning, and insurance to deliver comprehensive wealth management solutions and exceptional client service.
  • Drive organic growth by cultivating referrals, expanding existing client relationships, actively networking within the community, and developing new client opportunities that contribute to the continued growth of the firm.
  • Stay informed on market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes, communicating relevant insights to clients and maintaining the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility, compliance, and client care.
