About The Position

Cambrian Credit Union is seeking a Financial Advisor to join their Wealth & Advisory Services team. The Financial Advisor will manage and grow an assigned portfolio of Aviso Wealth investors, offering NEI Investment solutions and delivering customized advice. This role involves creating and delivering financial strategies tailored to each member's unique financial journey, providing a meaningful member experience through video and in-person channels. The Financial Advisor will collaborate with Cambrian retail branch teams to focus on external asset consolidation of existing members and deliver comprehensive advice with ongoing service.

Requirements

  • Mutual fund license in good standing, holding IFIC or Canadian Securities Course.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in business, or equivalent business experience.
  • Proven performer within a financial retail sales environment with a minimum of three years direct selling experience.
  • Thorough understanding of personal financial planning theories and standard asset allocation practices with practical knowledge of financial products and investment markets.
  • Critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems and challenges.
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Holding either Certified Financial Planner or Personal Financial Planner designation or completion within 36 months of assuming the role.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a consultative approach and planning tools (Conquest Planning) to develop plans and recommendations for member investing and retirement planning goals based on a holistic interview.
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of members (household investment portfolios $50,000-$350,000), ensuring regular member contact, aligning strategy to life stage and risk profile, and making portfolio adjustments as needed.
  • Drive asset consolidation among members by helping them implement recommended plans within Cambrian’s wealth management products.
  • Develop external business referral sources through networking, marketing, and centers of influence, and Cambrian’s Salesforce marketing cloud.
  • Focus on business development by building collaborative relationships with retail, digital branches, and small business staff to identify members with investment and planning needs.
  • Identify and assist in developing opportunities for retail banking products and services with Cambrian’s partners.
  • Refer investment portfolios over Financial Advisor thresholds to Senior Financial Advisor peers.
  • Promote and refer members to Aviso’s self-serve digital wealth solutions (Qtrade Guided Portfolio &/or Qtrade Direct Investing).
  • Maintain strong product knowledge within NEI preferred asset member-owned solutions.
  • Stay updated on the economic and financial environment, market conditions, trends, and changes to legislation and product platforms.
  • Provide expertise in dealing with valued clients, each with specific needs and circumstances requiring unique financial analysis and plans.
  • Provide leadership for the delivery of service excellence to members in all areas of their contact with Cambrian Credit Union.
  • Assist and support the Vice-President, Wealth & Advisory Services as necessary.
