Financial Advisor

First Command Financial Services, Inc.•Sierra Vista, AZ

About The Position

First Command Financial Advisors coach military families as they pursue financial security, using one-on-one guidance and time-tested financial principles. Advisors motivate clients to take steps toward their financial goals and help them manage day-to-day finances, build assets, and protect against unexpected events. The role involves building relationships in the community to bring new clients to First Command, with support from local district teams and the Home Office. Advisors connect with the military community through partnerships with local military organizations, military units, and other supporting institutions. They help families develop comprehensive plans covering savings and banking, investments and wealth management, and insurance and risk management. First Command provides training and licensing support for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses. The company sponsors candidates through full registration and licensing, and provides structured training and test preparation for securities and Life & Health licenses; prior licensing is not required. After completing licensing, candidates may move into a paid training role with a local district office. Compensation during the nine-month paid training period begins with an hourly wage for three months and then transitions to a salaried position with progressive incentives. Successful completion of the paid trainee program can lead to an independent-contractor Financial Advisor role, in which the Advisor runs their own practice and earns income based on the value delivered and results achieved. Compensation may include competitive commissions, residual income, bonuses, and deferred compensation, with no stated cap on earning potential. First Command also offers professional development, leadership programs, classroom training, and annual workshops. Advisors set their own schedules, and mobile career opportunities are available throughout the United States.
