About The Position

Black Walnut Wealth Management is seeking a Financial Advisor for their financial planning and investment advisory firm in Traverse City, MI. The firm takes a coordinated approach to wealth management, assisting clients primarily with investment, tax, and estate planning, especially for individuals nearing retirement or already retired. The goal is to manage the complexities of clients' finances to provide peace of mind. The Financial Advisor will be passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals, playing a key role in proactively caring for current and future clients to assist them with their long-term financial objectives. This position is critical in providing independent, objective, and unbiased financial counseling to clients.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in financial services
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
  • A strong desire to work in an ensemble group.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and software packages
  • Independently motivated, have excellent communication skills, and have a strong work ethic
  • Ability to identify, meet, and follow through with client’s needs and requirements
  • Must interact effectively with office staff and be a goal-oriented team player
  • Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial plans for clients that consider their specific preferences, values, goals, and priorities with a vision to accomplish the client’s personal and financial goals.
  • Lead client meetings with the plan to take over client relationships over time
  • Provide support for the financial planning needs of the firm’s clients (managing partner and own).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as compliance, investment operations, and client service, to ensure all client-related activities are executed efficiently and in line with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records, manage CRM data, and generate reports as needed to support advisors in tracking client activity, portfolio performance, and service delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for client growth and new business.
  • Execute trades and portfolio rebalancing for client accounts
