About The Position

This role provides direct oversight of the full Accounts Payable (AP) cycle, including 1099 reporting, and manages complex accounting requirements for leases, assets, contracts, and consumer funds. A primary focus of this position is the end-to-end management of Federal accounts and grant funds. This includes meticulous grant tracking, expense monitoring, and ensuring all expenditures align with federal, state, and agreement regulations. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a robust reconciliation framework, managing special accounts, and leading the department through seamless audit preparation and financial reporting cycles. A primary focus of this role is the end-to-end management of Federal accounts and grant funds, ensuring all expenditures align with federal and state regulations. Identify data points to capture in software, evaluation instruments, and establish program reporting platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field with considerable accounting coursework (Required).
  • 5–10 years of extensive experience in accounting and managing automated systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to lead accounting professionals.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and cost allocation methodologies. Proficiency in Advanced Excel and fund accounting systems is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal/state payroll taxes, VRS regulations, and IRS requirements.
  • Familiarity with DBHDS contract requirements and Part C financial monitoring.
  • Ability to maintain extreme attention to detail while managing bi-weekly payroll reviews and daily positive pay exceptions.
  • Strong multitasking skills to coordinate monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end closeouts simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fixed asset and inventory schedules, perform physical inventories, and ensure proper asset valuation for auditors.
  • Provide oversight for consumer-held funds, maintaining strict internal controls to protect client assets.
  • Perform quarterly internal audits of payroll, AP, petty cash, and client funds to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage organizational leases, ensure timely fiscal year-end closeouts, and prepare monthly/quarterly financial progress reports.
  • Serve as backup for payroll and accounts payable processing, and provide oversight for the annual review of vendor files.
