This position is required to work on-site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month. And, we offer half-day Fridays – every Friday! Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance major preferred.
- 2-3 years of insurance accounting experience.
- Strong Microsoft skills – Word, Excel, Access.
- Experience with ERP systems for accounting – PeopleSoft experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Third Party Administrator (TPA) accounting – responsible for the direct and reinsurance accounting and reporting for multiple TPA’s across several lines of business.
- Treaty/contract review - ensure all accounting and regulatory items are correctly implemented and followed with various reinsurance treaties.
- Mortgage Investment Accounting – record entries, prepare financial reports, and settle activity for all mortgage investments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and process improvements, including system enhancements and automation.
- Record journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform financial statement analysis as part of the monthly close.
- Preparation and analysis of schedules for Annual/Quarterly Statements and audits.
- Partner and collaborate with other departments (IT, Actuarial, Legal).
- Special projects as assigned.
