We are looking for an accomplished Financial Accountant to join our Finance team as part of our financial services business in Montreal. Requirements

  • A university degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience in accounting in industry or audit firms with a leading accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English)
  • Ability to display analytical and pragmatic thinking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent time management, proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines, organizational and prioritization skills
  • The ability to deal with all levels of staff including those in foreign offices

Nice To Haves

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent) would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of variance analysis, balance sheet analysis and supporting schedules, and any relevant analytical review
  • Collaboration with the finance team in delivering monthly management accounts, year-end audits and annual audited financial statement for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures
  • Supporting the shared services centre over the review of invoice coding and ensuring adherence to budgets
  • Participation in intercompany billing cycle, accounts receivable provisioning, and monitoring of all client balances for the respective business units
  • Participation in annual budgeting and forecasting, as well as various initiatives, projects and ad-hoc analysis
