About The Position

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is a leading global law firm with a significant international presence. The Finance Systems Team (FST) supports Finance teams worldwide, providing reporting for Central Management and Partners. This global team, reporting to the Global Head of Finance Systems, offers first-line technical support for all computer systems used by Finance staff. The team is involved in both supporting existing systems and developing/enhancing finance systems through application configuration and code development. The role involves close collaboration with the Technology team for testing and deployment. The primary focus of this role is to provide global support to Finance users across all applications used by the department. While full training will be provided, prior experience supporting 3E and related finance systems is preferred. The team operates with a model where members learn core system skills, develop, and mentor, with periodic specialization in specific applications based on experience, interests, and business needs. This is a hands-on role that may require working unsociable hours to meet business needs, with a shared team mailbox for out-of-hours support and rotated out-of-hours work across time zones. The role offers interaction with a wide range of individuals, including finance staff, business services, lawyers, partners, and senior management.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deal with all levels of business professionals and attorneys.
  • Must be a team player able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment, with a passion for exceeding client expectations.
  • An understanding of accounting systems, and how the multi-company, multi-currency paradigm works.
  • Strong analysis and technical skills around report writing and troubleshooting of application issues.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant finance systems experience, preferably in a legal or professional services background.
  • Experience with management of third-party suppliers.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective support of finance systems, in liaison with Technology and appropriate vendor support teams, by communicating with users to understand their process request or technical issue, troubleshooting and liaising with other teams and/or suppliers.
  • Maintenance of the finance applications configuration and core setups, understanding the configuration from both a technical and functional perspective, utilizing the appropriate core systems skills.
  • Assisting in the development of finance systems – robust testing of new functionality, processes and setups and preparation of related documentation for sign off.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of user and technical level documentation organized through the Finance Systems portal.
  • Provide month-end support to the global Finance Department and perform month-end closing on a rotating schedule.
  • Regular and Ad-hoc client and Firm specific reporting from various sources utilizing MDX, Excel and SQL.
  • Take on mini projects from time to time, involving attending project meetings and working with other departments in Finance and Technology as required, keeping the appropriate manager regularly informed of progress and developments.
  • Possibility of working at any of the Firm’s offices.
  • Attend training from time to time, both in terms of technical training and personal development.
  • Ensure that the firm's information security policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Complete security awareness training within a reasonable timeframe and apply the policy, and training requirements when handling information.
