About The Position

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Finance Sr. Manager for its New York, New York location. This role is responsible for managing financial processes, including strategic planning, budgeting, monthly forecasting, monthly reporting, and ad-hoc analytics. The manager will partner with technology, product, and enterprise stakeholders within Consumer Banking to project, monitor, and manage investments in Small Business Banking and Digital and Omnichannel Banking. They will manage the operating expense budget, forecast, and strategic plan process for these areas, develop comprehensive CAPEX forecasts, support expense reduction initiatives, and create financial tools to track benefits. The position provides financial stewardship for the division, encompassing month-end close, monthly financial reviews, rolling forecasts, annual and multi-year planning, and variance and attribution analysis. The role requires leveraging analytical tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Dodeca, and Tableau to identify and interpret trends in complex data sets, and driving process improvements through metric data management, automation of reports, and dashboard management. The Finance Sr. Manager will analyze revenue growth opportunities, provide financial advice and insight, and ensure appropriate financial analysis, scenario modeling, and integration into decision-making. They will perform financial and quantitative analysis and reporting using SQL, Tableau, and similar tools. Additionally, the role involves product road mapping, including sizing opportunities, estimating project impact, measuring initiative success, and creating attribution models.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Analytics, or closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience as Financial Specialist, Finance Expert, Manager – Financing & Analytics, or closely related position.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing advanced statistical and modeling techniques including ToolPak, for outlier detection and forecasting.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing data science methods to build analytic solutions to strategic business problems.
  • At least 3 years of experience analyzing data using SQL and Tableau reports to prove a hypothesis and make recommendations for improvement.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience writing SQL queries in large relational databases.
  • At least 3 years of experience building automated and scalable reporting dashboards in Tableau and Excel for management decision making.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing Oracle to review GL entries and create reports using Hyperion Planning and Essbase to build annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • At least 3 years of experience leveraging Excel macros to automate financial budgeting, forecasting tools, and variance analysis.
  • At least 3 years of experience translating requirements into product design and experience lead targeted initiatives.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product road mapping, including sizing opportunities, estimating project impact, measuring success of high impact initiatives, and creating attribution models using advance Excel functions.

Responsibilities

  • Driving process improvements, including management and organization of metric data, creation and automation of standard and ad-hoc reports, and management of dashboards.
  • Analyzing revenue growth opportunities and providing financial advice and insight to the group to help ensure appropriate levels of financial analysis, scenario modeling, and integration is incorporated into ongoing decision making.
  • Performing financial and quantitative analysis and reporting on data sets by leveraging SQL, Tableau, and other similar tools for data analytics and data visualization.
  • Engaging in product road mapping including sizing opportunities, estimating project impact, measuring success of high impact initiatives, and creating attribution models.
