About The Position

As a member of the Public Sector finance team, the Finance Specialist will collaborate closely with various teams and business partners throughout North America to support the financial management of client and case team portfolios. The individual will participate in the delivery of reliable finance and accounting services to support business needs in the key areas of financial management, project management, client contract management, and revenue and cash management. This role will also lead and participate in special projects, analysis, and initiatives to optimize the performance of current capabilities utilizing data analytics and business intelligence tools.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. degree in accounting or finance with 1-3 years of business experience preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • High level of competency with computing tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Analytical proficiency with strong business, financial management, or accounting background.
  • Ability to work varied hours to complete projects and tasks according to deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced, and growth environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer service-oriented focus.
  • Attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Utilizes sound judgment in dealing with workflow and uncertain situations.
  • Manages situations with confidence, understanding, and tact.
  • Ability to respect all BCG information as personal and confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Enable and execute efficient revenue and cash management operations for case teams and local Finance teams in the key areas of project management, contracting, invoicing, legal, and risk.
  • Partner with the PS Finance team to improve days sales outstanding (DSO) and client contract management across the Public Sector account.
  • Identify and implement operational process and productivity improvements to enhance controls and increase procedural effectiveness.
