About The Position

Novo, a global Christian ministry headquartered in Anaheim CA, is looking for a Finance Relations Coordinator to join our Finance Team. The right candidate should possess a positive, problem-solving attitude and be an effective communicator . Prior administrative experience and a lignment with Novo's Christian beliefs with a desire to serve in Christian ministry is a requirement of this position. The Finance Relations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a high-quality customer support function for Novo’s Finance Team, acting as a communication bridge and systems specialist with financial partners (donors) and staff, and providing staff with timely reimbursement of expenses. The Coordinator should be organized and detail oriented, have good interpersonal skills, a basic knowledge of accounting functions, and the ability to learn new software systems with ease.

Requirements

  • A professional demeanor with a minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a nonprofit or ministry environment.
  • Good computer and systems experience with the ability to learn and acquire new systems experience quickly.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills that allow for clear communication with others to ensure accuracy and proper interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting functions
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage their time.
  • Resourceful and able to collaborate with others to acquire information.
  • An effective team player
  • Above average interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport and inspire trust with others.

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and donation processing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains quality communication standards by performing various communication and administrative responsibilities to strengthen and support the relationship between Finance, financial partners (donors) and staff.
  • Acts as Finance’s first point of contact to ensure that general and escalated after-hours inquiries to Finance are answered promptly or transferred to the correct Finance or Ops team member
  • Researches and promptly and accurately responds to financial partners and staff with answers related to gift processing, giving site issues, donation records, missing donations, and donor information
  • Assists support-based staff with the creation and maintenance of their custom donation page
  • Routinely monitors the accuracy and confidentiality of personal financial partner data in the giving system, updates new and existing partner information, and contacts staff members of changes or issues concerning their partners.
  • Keeps up to date on data privacy laws, updates the CFO with concerns or changes, and updates policies and procedural guidelines as needed.
  • Manages the expense reimbursement process in accordance with Novo policy and IRS guidelines.
  • Ensures that general inquiries to Finance are answered promptly or transferred to the respective Finance or Operations team member.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by the CFO.
