Requirements

  • BS finance or accounting; or equivalent experience
  • 12+ Years of broad business experience
  • Knowledge of best practices in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in various computer-based applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Deep expertise in financial planning, analysis, and modeling, with a proven ability to build and interpret complex financial models that support high-stakes business decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple critical and time-sensitive activities
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to maintain and improve customer relations.
  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively to both financial and non-financial audiences at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams across BCBSA to provide financial expertise and analytical rigor on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted finance resource on complex, multi-stakeholder projects — bringing structure, discipline, and financial perspective to ambiguous and evolving situations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Support the evolution of financial reporting across BCBSA, with a focus on moving from static, backward-looking reports to dynamic, insight-driven tools that inform strategy.
  • Identify gaps in current reporting capabilities and partner with Financial Systems and business stakeholders to develop solutions that improve visibility, accuracy, and decision-readiness across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes — identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, increase analytical capacity, and elevate the overall quality of financial support provided to the business.
  • Serve as an internal champion for best practices, bringing external benchmarks and innovative approaches that advance the function.
