Finance Operations Senior Manager

C1San Francisco, CA

About The Position

C1 empowers organizations to adopt AI securely and at speed by delivering the right access and context to every human, workload, and agent. Companies like Instacart, Ramp, Zscaler, and Brex trust C1 to accelerate AI adoption with confidence. On our small-but-mighty finance team, you'll partner with the VP of Finance to expand and improve our financial operations and contribute to FP&A more broadly. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role — you'll own most of our day-to-day financial operations while contributing analytical support on strategic priorities. Think of it as a front-row seat to the full financial operations of a high-growth, venture-backed company. This role is ideal for someone who embraces ambiguity, wears many hats comfortably, and is genuinely energized by chasing down answers, resolving discrepancies, and bringing order to operational complexity. Much of this work involves investigation, coordination, and judgment — not just running reports.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in financial operations, FP&A, finance, or accounting in a SaaS company.
  • A strong understanding of both SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR and its components) and GAAP concepts (e.g., accrual accounting).
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, and hands-on experience with Ramp, Salesforce, and Stripe.
  • Problem-solver at heart: energized by investigating discrepancies, untangling billing issues, and bringing clarity to ambiguous situations.
  • Obsession with the details, combined with an ability to assess materiality.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without dropping threads.
  • Communicate clearly and partner effectively across teams — a lot of this role is coordinating with people, following up, and getting answers.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
  • Have worked at a startup before, or understand in your bones what Startupland looks and feels like.

Nice To Haves

  • Worked at a venture-backed startup, especially during a high-growth phase.
  • Excited to extensively leverage AI to build automation and/or efficiency, and are enthusiastic about learning and implementing new tools.
  • Familiar with CPQ or commissions tools (Everstage, DealHub).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized AP workflows.
  • Field invoice and payment questions from employees and our outside accounting team.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Coach internal teams on procurement best practices and spending policies.
  • Administer Ramp and oversee expense management — primary point of contact for questions from employees.
  • Own card provisioning/deprovisioning, approval workflows, and policy development/enforcement.
  • Review employee expenses, and follow up on missing receipts and documentation.
  • Build and present training materials for employees.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable — aging analysis, customer follow-ups, escalation of past-due balances, etc. This includes both legacy SaaS billing and our new rollout of usage-based billing.
  • Provide information to our outsourced accounting team (e.g., vendor reports, accruals, cost allocations) to ensure clean and accurate financial reporting for month-end close.
  • Manage recurring compliance deliverables — 1099 prep, Form 3921 filings, and other tax-related and compliance projects — in coordination with outside accounting and tax providers.
  • Build and maintain operational dashboards – level up our reporting of SaaS metrics, P&L financials, headcount, and more.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate and AI-ify broadly across the function.
  • Develop and maintain a contract tracking system to stay ahead of vendor renewal dates and auto-renewal windows.
  • Support the VP of Finance on board deck preparation, ad hoc analysis, and investor-facing materials.
