About The Position

Purdys Chocolatier is seeking a Finance Operations Manager to join their Finance team in Vancouver, BC. This role reports to the Director of Accounting & Finance and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, with a focus on optimizing AP and AR processes within the ERP system, Infor SyteLine, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and commodity tax compliance, preferably in both manufacturing and retail environments.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of leasing arrangements, particularly in a retail environment with a lease portfolio of 100+ stores.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of commodity tax regulations and experience managing commodity taxes in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, with demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in our Vancouver office a minimum of 3 days per week

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation
  • Prior experience with Infor SyteLine ERP

Responsibilities

  • Oversee core accounting operations to ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Manage banking activities, including vendor payments and multicurrency transactions (CAD, USD, EUR).
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of receipts, disbursements, and period-end/year-end close activities.
  • Oversee commodity tax application and ensure timely, accurate filing of required tax returns.
  • Lead and continuously improve AP and AR processes within the Infor SyteLine ERP system.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across financial operations.
  • Lead and support AP and AR teams by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and fostering development.
  • Develop and maintain AP and tax related controls, procedures, and documentation, supporting strong cross functional collaboration.
