Finance & Operations Manager

Tilting Futures•Oakland, CA
•Hybrid

About The Position

The Finance & Operations Manager leads Tilting Futures’ finance, people, and technology operations so the team has the information and resources it needs to focus on the young people it serves. This hands-on role builds practical, simple systems and shared expertise so that knowledge, tools, and processes do not depend on one person. The position reports directly to Odiaka Gonzalez, Chief Operating Officer, who sits on the Senior Leadership Team. The manager oversees accurate and timely financial operations, including leading month-end close, working with outside accountants and a fractional CFO, project managing budgets and forecasts, and managing spending controls, accounts payable, expense reconciliation, and contract records. The role also leads people operations, including benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, offer letters, HR compliance, and hiring-process coordination. The manager administers organization-wide technology tools, budgets, vendors, and renewals; helps teams build ownership and expertise in the tools they use; and recommends, retires, and secures systems as appropriate. The role also improves and documents operational processes, keeps the Resource Hub current, and identifies opportunities to automate, streamline, or outsource work. This is a hybrid role with two to three in-person days per week in Oakland. The ideal start date is January 4, 2027. The salary range is $82,000–$88,000.
