About The Position

Make a meaningful impact through ownership of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and governance activities that support critical Defence and Marine programs. We're seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial management and accounting activities across the Australian operations of our Marine Business Unit. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality financial support across multiple contracts and business overheads, while driving informed decision-making, financial integrity, and continuous improvement. About the Role As Finance Manager, you will lead a small team and partner closely with operational and contract leaders to provide trusted financial insight and guidance. You'll balance day-to-day financial delivery with longer-term planning, helping the business identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and achieve strong financial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in finance business partnering across operational environments.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing performance and developing teams.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and practical application.
  • Experience preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Advanced ERP systems and spreadsheeting skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CA qualifications will be viewed favourably but are not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the consolidation and management of financial information across Marine contracts and overheads.
  • Deliver budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support business performance.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities as business priorities evolve.
  • Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Partner with Marine Business Unit leaders to support key projects, business initiatives, and transformation activities.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Finance team.
  • Coordinate audit requirements and maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors.
