Requirements

  • Proven success in a managerial position
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year in a sales manager or F&I manager role
  • Must be able to make detailed financial decisions within strict timeframes
  • Proven organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated strong and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Sell finance and appropriate after-sale items to new and used vehicle customers
  • Submit paperwork/funding packages to lenders on a timely basis
  • Ensure all federal, state, and dealer paperwork is correct
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments
  • Complete all paperwork necessary for the vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain an adequate and current supply of all required contracts and paperwork needed for completion and finalization of car deals
  • Check all paperwork for correct figures, title, lien holder information, taxes, etc. before signing out customer
  • Handle all rate quotations
  • Ensure that titles for trades are collected at the time of sale and verify that payoff information is correct
  • Maintain a positive relationship with buyers and lender representatives
  • Guarantee all customers leave with a complete understanding of dealership benefits
  • Offer every customer ancillary products per Walser policy
  • Explain manufacturer warranties on new and used vehicles
  • Remain aware of new lending institutions to secure competitive interest rates and finance and lease programs
  • Coordinate forecasting with the general manager to achieve desired levels of penetration and income
  • Prepare reports on finance penetration, as requested
  • Work closely with the sales manager to achieve sales department goals and objectives
  • Train and work with the sales team to ensure understanding of the finance process
  • Motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all department staff members conducting disciplinary action or PIPs as needed, and administer annual performance evaluations for staff with thoughtful feedback
  • Appraise staff productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
  • Develop and execute the overall F&I strategy of dealership
