About The Position

This is a leadership position in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization and will serve as the strategic business advisor and partner supporting the Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit (SCU). The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Understanding of business and program requirements with performance implications on the financial aspects of the business.
  • Finance leadership with the management skills to set direction and create goals that align with business requirements and timelines, prioritize tasks and enforcing accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify talent, providing sufficient autonomy and accountability, while building a highly functioning Team.
  • Excellent customer service, accountability, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting strategic and tactical business investment decisions.
  • Developing current, accurate and complete budgets, rates, and performance analysis.
  • Presenting financials to SCU leadership and Space & Mission Systems (SMS) executive staff.
  • Working collaboratively within the Operations SCU to develop financial best practices and coordinate with the Directors within the SCU to develop financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Ensuring business operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with best practices.
  • Developing, promoting, and supporting Finance training to increase financial acumen.
  • Supporting business requests, special projects and collaborating with others to optimize business solutions.
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports to ensure personal growth and management visibility.
  • Developing and supporting overall objectives, strategies, and long-range goals of personnel.
  • Measuring performance through reviews to drive continual improvement.
  • Creating and maintaining succession plans.
  • Managing and hiring in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Inspiring self and others, making lasting connections and achieving results within a team environment.
  • Interacting appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Supporting the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) development and audit.
  • Understanding the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), disclosure statements, indirect cost activities and associated allocation methods.
  • Supporting disclosure statement updates and cost impact assessments.
  • Supporting business operations that are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with best practices.
  • All aspects of the role align with regulations, and comply with Company policies, procedures, tools, and instructions.
  • Supporting business risk resolution and opportunity identification and implementation.
  • Maintaining a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
