This role is responsible for delivering reliable and efficient inventory valuation, ensuring correct cost standards, and supporting manufacturing and supply chain teams with financial reporting. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum seven years of progressive cost accounting experience.
  • Includes project management leadership experience.
  • Includes development of technical expertise.
  • Firm grasp on conceptual and systematic costing issues.
  • Experience in leading team members, providing mentorship and development guidance.
  • Broad understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Specific knowledge in areas of specialty to support departmental objectives.
  • Computer skills and experience with database programs such as Oracle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters.
  • Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
  • Applicable latitude for independent action or decisions.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to tactfully confront others on pertinent issues.

Responsibilities

  • Automate reporting for the Operational Finance function, developing dashboards for real-time reporting on key metrics.
  • Create concise financial summaries and present financial information to Supply Chain leaders.
  • Analyze financials to provide key insights on actionable improvements to business partners.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Warehousing, Materials, and Purchasing teams to develop, execute, and measure cost savings actions.
  • Lead a team of cost accountants in all cost accounting functions to achieve ODL's key results.
  • Allocate work, develop and review key metrics with the team, and lead them to achieve results.
  • Coach and develop employees.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and resource utilization while maintaining accuracy.
  • Provide visibility of financial position to the Zeeland manufacturing operation.
  • Achieve focus and alignment with business partners to improve financial performance.
  • Prepare budgets, review budget proposals, supporting documentation, and budget presentations.
  • Support the manufacturing team with capital expenditures proposals.
  • Report significant variances on a weekly basis by investigating potential problems and devising solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee financial reporting to the Supply Chain Team.
  • Design, execute, and maintain the inventory valuation process for all Oracle organizations, including establishing and reviewing all cost elements (material, labor, overhead).
  • Manage perpetual inventory valuation and inventory reserves.
  • Work with Domestic and Asia teams to establish correct material costs and monitor/forecast purchase price variances, including purchase cost and adders.
  • Establish and implement a process to review the accuracy of bills of materials, routings, and other cost elements (e.g., outside purchase services) regularly.
  • Establish and implement a reliable and efficient process to allocate overhead costs among different cost departments.
  • Organize and coordinate periodic inventory counts with inventory control teams in the U.S. (Zeeland manufacturing and distribution centers), including year-end inventory counts for audit preparation.
  • Facilitate and organize inventory counting to ensure inventory accuracy before the final year-end audit.
  • Own the financial statement closing processes, including analyzing and journaling inventory, COGS, freight, and distribution costs, ensuring process integrity and effectiveness.
  • Be accountable and responsible for accrual, reconciliation, and analysis of general ledger accounts.
  • Provide and coordinate information to the audit firm for interim and annual audits.
  • Treat all information in a confidential and professional manner.
