About The Position

As the Finance Manager for the Chicago Plant, you will provide leadership and oversight across financial planning, controls, and operational reporting. You will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and partnering with plant leadership to achieve business targets. In the Controller's absence, you will assume full responsibility for the plant's finance function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with significant time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems; S/4HANA experience is a plus.
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of CPG/manufacturing dynamics.
  • Relevant experience in a large regional or global corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Plant Controller to provide strategic financial guidance to plant leadership, translating insights into actionable recommendations that support net productivity and capital expenditure targets.
  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Own the monthly process for manufacturing financials, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and continuous cycle-time improvement.
  • Manage the plant's risk and opportunity profile, driving forecast accuracy to control spending and achieve financial results.
  • Lead cost and budget ownership across the plant, ensuring proper governance, training, and accountability around cost centers.
  • Drive the loss analysis and loss elimination agenda, coordinating the master planning process and aligning with the cluster's productivity targets.
  • Monitor site and cluster KPIs — waste, overtime, fixed costs, overheads — and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure robust inventory management procedures, BOM and MR accuracy.
  • Support the Engineering team with appropriation requests and post-investment evaluations.
  • Supervise and develop the plant finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Maintain a strong internal controls environment to ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with corporate policies.
