About The Position

The Finance Manager oversees the full spectrum of accounting, finance, and reporting activities, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and strategic planning. This role manages daily financial operations, supports tax and regulatory compliance, administers payroll and benefits, and provides analytical and operational insights that drive organizational growth. It is a hands-on position with significant autonomy, direct exposure to executive decision-makers, and the opportunity to build scalable financial processes in a collaborative, mission-driven environment at the intersection of art, business, and global engagement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of accounting or financial management experience with a track record of increasing responsibility.
  • Background in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or related financial operations.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing transactional accounting processes, including billing, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and maintenance of financial records.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software, including QuickBooks, and spreadsheet tools such as Excel, with the ability to leverage systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience managing core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting budgeting initiatives, forecasting activities, and cash management oversight.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a high degree of accuracy and a firm commitment to data integrity.
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism when handling sensitive financial, payroll, and personnel information.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate financial concepts for operational and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while partnering closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including payment processing, billing activities, cash monitoring, and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data within the organization’s accounting platform, ensuring all records remain current and complete.
  • Coordinate customer invoicing and monitor collection activity to support healthy cash flow and timely receipt of revenues.
  • Track financial obligations associated with third-party agreements, vendors, and revenue-generating transactions to ensure accurate recording and timely payment.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of banking, credit card, and other financial accounts to maintain data integrity and identify discrepancies.
  • Manage core accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
  • Lead monthly close activities, ensuring supporting schedules, journal entries, and documentation are complete, accurate, and prepared on time.
  • Monitor liquidity, projected expenditures, and incoming revenue, providing regular financial updates and insights to leadership.
  • Generate internal financial reporting packages, variance analyses, and performance metrics for management review and decision-making.
  • Assist with annual planning efforts, including budget development, forecasting initiatives, and longer-term financial planning.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting workflows, reporting processes, and financial controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable sales and use tax requirements and maintain supporting records for regulatory purposes.
  • Partner with external accounting professionals during year-end reporting, tax preparation, and financial review activities.
  • Compile requested schedules, contractor payment information, and supporting documentation for tax filings and audit engagements.
  • Serve as a liaison for banking, compliance, and routine financial administration matters, maintaining strong relationships with external partners.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and best practices.
  • Process payroll activities through a third-party provider and support ongoing payroll administration to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle documentation, including onboarding and separation paperwork, in alignment with HR and finance requirements.
  • Assist with benefits administration and maintenance of personnel records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage workers’ compensation reporting, audit requests, and related compliance activities.
  • Coordinate with insurance partners regarding coverage updates, renewals, and policy administration.
  • Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and broader financial planning initiatives that support organizational goals.
  • Deliver financial insights and analysis related to business operations, revenue drivers, strategic initiatives, and special projects.
  • Evaluate vendors, service providers, and operational resources to ensure financial soundness and alignment with business needs.
  • Help develop scalable processes, procedures, and reporting structures that support organizational growth and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing analytical and operational support to executive leadership and key stakeholders, translating financial data into actionable recommendations.
