About The Position

Clocktower Group is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join their collaborative finance team. This role will report directly to the COO and will be a key resource for firm leadership, focusing on accounting and financial reporting, planning, and process improvement. The position involves supporting the management company and general partner entities, emphasizing accuracy and meeting deadlines while concentrating on higher-value tasks such as FP&A, management reporting, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, and possess strong Excel skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • Detailed and highly tech-savvy with experience owning and improving workflows across tools/software.
  • Comfort operating at both a strategic and hands-on level in a growing organization.
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, corporate finance, or FP&A, ideally within public accounting, financial services, investment management, or professional services.
  • Must be onsite 3-4 days per week in the Santa Monica, CA office.

Nice To Haves

  • QuickBooks Online (or comparable GL system) experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to private equity, venture capital, or fund accounting is a plus, but not required.
  • CPA, CPA candidacy, or public-accounting experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial forecasts for revenue and cost centers, compiling a comprehensive budget to drive business decisions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting materials for senior management, managing internal requests and recurring deliverables with clear ownership and deadlines.
  • Help shape and optimize the firm's finance tech stack, improving workflows, data availability/quality, reducing manual steps, and implementing AI and automation.
  • Provide backup coverage and review support for core accounting processes including AP/AR, payroll, GL, and month-end close, ensuring strong controls and documentation.
  • Coordinate firm and GP tax processes by managing inputs, timelines, and follow-ups with the external tax provider.
  • Support senior management on longer-term organizational and headcount planning through analysis and cost visibility.
