About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Finance Manager Corporate Staff Services - R&D, you will be responsible for partnering closely with R&D and product teams, with a primary focus on financial planning, analysis, and governance for New Product Introductions (NPI). This role will serve as a key business partner, providing financial insights that drive successful product development, optimize investment decisions, suggest productivity actions and ensure alignment with company growth objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (completed and verified prior to start)
Nine (9) years of FP&A or corporate finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities

Partnering with the R&D team and senior leaders to develop financial plans for new product initiatives
Owning the financial metrics associated with new product introductions
Creating analytics that allow decision-making on new product introduction processes and generate improvements
Leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for R&D and NPI programs
Building and managing financial models, including business cases, ROI, NPV
Supporting stage-gate reviews with clear financial recommendations at key decision points
Tracking and analyzing project spend vs. budget, identifying risks and opportunities
Driving process improvements in financial planning, reporting, and investment governance
Approving capital investments impacting R&D
