About The Position

Manages a broad span of control over the analysis, interpretation and projection of financial information for projects and business initiatives. Responsible for ensuring all assigned financial projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality standards. Provides oversight to the development of complex business models, cost/benefit analysis, and the preparation of recommendations for management review. Incorporates effective change and risk management controls in the development of financial recommendations and information. Coordinates the development of financial reports and systems with other areas within the company. Advises and develop a technical staff skilled in the application and development of financial analytical methods and techniques. Monitors performance against budget and takes corrective action to mitigate or reverse unfavorable variances. Participates in the department process relating to the selection, hiring, training and development of assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Leadership experience to include coaching, mentoring, challenging and enabling employees to successfully meet objectives and goals.
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of complex corporate projects including the preparation of cost justifications, proposals and risk assessments
  • Experience in development of complex financial/mathematical models using macros and other advanced spreadsheet applications
  • Experience analyzing and defining resource and skill requirements for projects
  • Experience developing and applying cost accounting principles and methods
  • Experience analyzing projects for forecasting and budgeting purposes
  • Experience advising and developing technical staff in the application and development of emerging budget, forecast and analysis techniques
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of statistical and financial data
  • Management experience to include: Providing work direction and guidance, Organization and planning, Coordinating and delegating responsibility, Budget preparation
  • Knowledge of economic regression analysis of variables that drive corporate financial results and product profitability
  • Strong presentation, persuasion and interpersonal skills including report/proposal preparation and presentation
  • Ability to oversee and guide initiatives to completion
  • Ability to provide clear directives and effectively communicate goals and objectives to team
  • Ability to communicate and transition corporate/financial goals into individual plans
  • Ability to evaluate a complex business process and understand the interdependencies between components
  • Ability to build consensus between business/financial operations and project teams
  • Ability to interact with executives in the organization, outside vendors/consultants and/or regulators with a high degree of credibility and professionalism

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field and /or/professional designation (e.g. Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Managerial Accountant or Certified Public Accountant) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Associate in Reinsurance (ARE), etc.
  • Experience conducting cost-benefit-analysis (CBA) for large investment projects
