About The Position

The Finance Manager position is in a non-traditional banking business and works closely with and supports the PNC Capital Finance CFO, PNC Capital Finance Controllers, the Alternative Investment fund managers and their teams (Mezzanine and Riverarch), and Sr. Executives. Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end quarterly fair value process for the Alternative Investment group, leading a small team to ensure precise, timely, and well supported valuations in accordance with fair value accounting standards/investment company guidance, and internal Policies/Procedures, including rigorous review of portfolio company financial statements
  • Serve as the primary owner and point of accountability for valuation accuracy, controls, and documentation
  • Partner with Investment fund teams and risk stakeholders to address valuation issues, drive consistency, and support governance requirements
  • Continuously enhance process discipline, review rigor, and team effectiveness within the valuation function
  • Executes all aspects of accounting, financial and regulatory/SEC reporting, delivering timely, accurate, and compliant financial information
  • Leads the yearly budget and strategic planning process, including forecast updates, variance analysis, reconciliations, and stress testing, providing critical insights that support executive decision-making and long-term business objectives
  • Responsible for the GAAP checklist
  • Review quarterly and annual public filings
  • Complete reporting for PNC Capital Finance Board of Directors presentations
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners including auditors and risk personnel
  • Interprets and applies accounting literature to the preparation of financial statements and partnership accounting, including familiarity with corresponding legal documents (Limited Partnership Agreements – LPA’s).
  • Leverages financial technology, project management and collaboration skills to drive timely execution of initiatives
  • Manages and oversees preparation of timely, transparent, and succinct financial reports to enable informed decision-making by stakeholders.
  • Works to create a high performing inclusive team.
  • Generally manages a smaller team supporting a business sub-segment or functional unit.
  • Manages annual budget cycle and continuous monthly forecasting.
  • Manages development of long term strategic plans.
  • Reviews and interprets key financial forecasts and metric-driven performance dashboards to inform strategic business insights.
  • Structures and manages on-demand analysis and reports to address specific business needs.
  • Works closely with Accounting Policy on new accounting standard adoptions affecting their business.
  • Performs technical financial research and documentation on issues affecting their business.
  • Structures and monitors the preparation of reports and analysis in response to requests and requirements of audit, regulatory, and investors .
  • Communicate directly with external constituents.
  • Promptly identifies and addresses control matters; maintains sound control processes.
  • May also contribute to risk review and challenge for assigned business.
  • Demonstrates executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate directly with senior leaders and influence colleagues across all organization levels.
