As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. It provides an environment for learning and growth for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology. Areas of placement for Finance Internships may include Telemundo Finance and International Finance. The Telemundo Finance intern will join the Telemundo Content Finance team, which oversees Greenlights and Post Mortems for all Telemundo productions and acquisitions, providing profitability analysis for executive approval and actual performance. The International Finance intern will join NBCU’s International Networks and Direct-to-Consumer group's finance team, gaining analytical work and practical exposure to core finance operations, including how financial information is generated, validated, analyzed, and used for decision-making. The assignment is designed to be meaningful and robust, with a tangible deliverable, helping the intern build a strong foundation in financial analysis, reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in Miami, FL.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Students pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Previous internship or work experience within finance, accounting, and/or data preferred.
  • Strong interest in the media industry.
  • Ability to multitask and highly organized.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of any Finance and FP&A Systems (SAC, BPC, Essbase, Oracle) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Expand the Greenlight and Post Mortem database in BPC, including data input, performing financial analysis, reconciliation, and auditing (Telemundo Finance).
  • Support a practical cross-functional project involving recurring report preparation, financial data validation, maintenance of reporting templates, and documentation of selected finance processes across Controllership, FP&A, and Finance Operations (International Finance).
