About The Position

CSX is a Fortune 500 company seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation. Interns are placed within the Finance Department for a 10 week immersion into CSX methods and culture. Individuals complete challenging real-world assignments, working hand in hand with leaders across the company to improve decision-making and financial performance. Finance internships provide an opportunity for candidates to experience what a role in corporate finance looks like, while allowing CSX to actively recruit tomorrow's best talent. This is a 10 Week Summer Internship Program starting on May 26, 2026 and ending July 31, 2026. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
  • Must be going into the final year of your undergraduate or graduate program in the summer of 2026, with an anticipated graduation date in Spring 2027
  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.2 (based on a 4-point scale)
  • Work inside an office environment
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences
  • Work within established deadlines
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
  • Academic distinction with financial or quantitative interest/talent
  • Proven leadership ability and initiative
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating relationships with internal business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects and understand economic tradeoffs to help make real-time business decisions
  • Providing analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations
  • Guiding the development of short- and long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies.
  • Developing and utilizing financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound, fact-based economic decisions
  • Consulting and communicating analyses through presentations to senior management in the department and business partners from other departments
