Summer 2027 Finance Internship Program - PSS
About The Position
The NewYork-Presbyterian Finance Summer Intern Program educates undergraduate students on the overall financial operations of a hospital. The program is designed for those who are interested in the business aspect of healthcare and eager to explore the many facets of healthcare management. The program will expose students to Senior Hospital Administration both within and outside of Finance as well as provide them with real-world experience in the corporate world. The Internship is an 8-week program based in New York City starting in early June. At the end of the program, students present their project results to Senior Leadership, Project Hosts and their Mentors. The internship is designed for students with a distinct interest in the healthcare field. The internship is not intended for students who wish to pursue careers in investment banking or those only demonstrate a pure finance interest.
Requirements
- Eligible candidates must be a rising senior undergraduate student who graduates in 2028
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s program
- Knowledge of computers and various Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work independently
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide statistical analysis
Nice To Haves
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain Management, Economics, Finance, or a related major/program
- Exceptional creativity, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- An interest in finance and healthcare
- Completion of finance or accounting courses
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
- Work on strategic projects related to Procure-to-Pay, Strategic Sourcing, and/or Supply Chain in our hospital’s Procure-to-Pay, Strategic Sourcing and Supply-Chain (PSS) Department. The projects could intersect with automation, artificial intelligence, standardization, process improvement, and cost savings across various clinical and support service departments at NewYork-Presbyterian campuses.
- Work closely with hospital departments to identify operational needs and translate them into system and technical solutions.
- Develop and present key metrics to leadership to measure performance and progress.
- Participate in a mentor program where each intern is assigned a mentor who offers support and guidance throughout the summer.
- Participate in hospital tours and volunteer opportunities.
- Attend meetings with NYP leaders across many departments to hear about their personal stories, career paths, and professional advice.
- Engage in networking opportunities with employees across the organization.
- Participate in team building events to promote team bonding.
