About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for learning. The Finance Intern will report to the Associate Director, Internal Control (ADIC), who reports to the Sr Director, Accounting. They will work cross-departmentally to undertake various accounting functions and projects, including AP, external audit support, etc. This internship is open to students actively in school and will be a part-time opportunity for accounting students to get on-hands experience to supplement their education.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in an Accounting, Business, or Finance Undergraduate degree program as a Junior or Senior with excel experience OR enrolled in a Masters program in Accounting, Business or Finance with excel experience
• Experience in accounting or finance preferred.
• Candidates must be located in Utah and be able to commute at least 50% of the time to the office in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, account/vendor reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes processes, as needed.
• Assist with data preparation for external and internal audits.
• Learn and apply accounting principles and standards.
• Support other Accounting/Finance team members as needed.
• Other projects as assigned by the ADIC
