About The Position

The Finance Intern will complete a variety of finance and accounting duties with guidance from finance leads and under the supervision of site controllers. This internship will provide exposure to various aspects of the department and create the opportunity for meaningful work. The intern will have opportunities to engage with experienced professionals at their site in-person and across other sites on Teams in group and one-on-one settings.

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on Finance or another relevant field.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to develop effective working relationships.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform journal entries.
Assist with financial modeling, analysis, and aspects of reporting.
Support the budgeting process.
Support automation projects and contribute to other high-value projects (enhanced analytics, system implementations, etc.) as available.
Work as a team member in meeting the needs of the office staff, leaders, and customers.
Provide excellent customer service to help customers and staff reach their goals.
Evaluate current systems and procedures and make process improvement suggestions, including the use of AI.
