Weekday AICalifornia City, CA
$60 - $100Hybrid

About The Position

This role involves collaborating with a leading AI lab's research and program management teams to enhance AI models' understanding of financial work. The expert will review the quality of finance knowledge tasks, define standards through instruction specifications and golden solutions, and develop benchmarks to measure AI model improvement. The focus is on practical, specialized finance expertise.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of substantive, dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution (e.g., investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator). Generalist roles are not sufficient.
  • Genuine specialization in at least one core finance discipline (e.g., corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit).
  • Clear progression to a senior individual-contributor or leadership level (e.g., Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO) with demonstrated ownership of analysis and decisions.
  • Hands-on working use of large language models in professional work, with the ability to distinguish well-reasoned answers from plausible but incorrect ones.
  • Ability to commit reliably to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement of 6 months.
  • Living in the Bay Area, California, and able to work on-site with the client's team multiple days each week as required.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide precise, well-structured written feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree from a strong program (MBA, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field).
  • A recognized professional credential such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation.

Responsibilities

  • Vet the quality of finance knowledge work tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, thin reasoning, flawed assumptions, and answers that would not survive professional scrutiny.
  • Write high-quality instruction specs, produce golden solutions to financial problems, and define new finance tasks that reflect actual industry practices.
  • Design challenging finance tasks and evaluation sets.
  • Help build finance-specific skills and tools in collaboration with the research team.
  • Work with client researchers and specialists in adjacent fields to maintain consistent standards, translating tacit financial judgment into explicit, teachable criteria.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $60-$100 per hour
