About The Position

The Finance Director – Fabrication & Manufacturing is the senior financial business partner to the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing. The role establishes the financial foundation, operating discipline, and decision-support structure for Loenbro Fabrication & Manufacturing (F&M) as a centralized, stand-alone profit-and-loss business. Initial work includes carving out F&M’s current cost structure from broader operating businesses and establishing repeatable methods for revenue recognition, cost assignment, overhead allocation and absorption, intercompany charging, facility economics, profitability, forecasting, and reporting. The Director partners across manufacturing, operations, corporate finance, accounting, project controls, estimating, supply chain, and other functions. The role provides financial analysis for capacity expansion, capital deployment, productization, external-market growth, facility rationalization, partnerships, acquisitions, and other investments. It develops KPIs and financial visibility into utilization, margins, cash generation, return on invested capital, and the economics of the manufacturing network. The position may expand to provide financial leadership, governance, and business-building support for additional centralized or emerging Operations business lines. The successful candidate combines FP&A and accounting fundamentals with operational finance, commercial judgment, manufacturing and project-costing knowledge, capital-allocation discipline, and a builder mentality. The role includes extensive cross-functional collaboration and approximately 20–30% travel to manufacturing facilities and operating locations, with potential visits to industrial job sites and shop floors. Work combines office/remote work with regular travel. The role requires compliance with applicable safety regulations, PPE requirements, and Loenbro EH&S policies.

  • Strong commercial and analytical judgment, with the ability to connect operating decisions to margin, cash flow, capital efficiency, and enterprise value.
  • Experience with ERP, project-controls, business-intelligence, and financial-reporting systems; advanced spreadsheet and financial-modeling capability.
  • Ability to work effectively in an evolving environment where processes, systems, reporting structures, and organizational boundaries are being established and standardized.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to Loenbro manufacturing and operating locations as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to understand how work is estimated, sold, engineered, procured, fabricated, manufactured, shipped, and installed, and to translate those operating realities into financial structures.
  • Willingness to build new structures, establish financial disciplines across facilities, challenge legacy cost assumptions, and partner with operational leaders to improve margin, utilization, cash generation, and return on capital.
