About The Position

Tonkin Family of Dealerships is growing rapidly, and now is a great time to join our dealership! We have a wonderful opportunity in our finance department for a Finance Director at one of our Portland area stores. This position makes a huge impact on our dealership and provides a great work-life balance and career development. Working as our Finance Director, you would be overseeing the financial services department, securing competitive financing and insurance options for our guests, and ensuring all transactions meet strict compliance and manufacturer specifications. The ideal candidate would have prior automotive management experience with a proven track record of leadership.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive F&I management or a Director-level role.
  • Extensive knowledge of dealership DMS systems (CDK, Dealertrack, or Reynolds & Reynolds).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to pass a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the F&I team to achieve department goals while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of lenders to secure the best rates and terms for our clients.
  • Oversee the presentation and sale of financing, service contracts, and ancillary products.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations throughout the contracting process.
  • Review and manage the "Contracts in Transit" (CIT) list to ensure timely funding and accurate accounting.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to streamline the deal-to-delivery process.
