About The Position

The Tri-State Finance Director oversees the major donor fundraising efforts in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The Finance Director creates and implements a region-specific finance plan and supports the execution of principal and surrogate travel and fundraising events. The Finance Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with the top donors in their region. The Tri-State Finance Director is based in Washington, DC and reports to the National Finance Co-Directors at the Democratic National Committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-4 cycles of political fundraising experience.
  • Strong and engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Management experience.
  • Detail oriented and proficient in Excel and Google Suite.
  • Working knowledge of NGP database.
  • Experience managing events and staffing principals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some travel required.

  • Experience working in the political fundraising area, with emphasis on Tri-State fundraising is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and execute fundraising travel in their region including donor meetings and finance events.
  • Develop a comprehensive cycle finance plan that aims to exceed regional goals.
  • Practices excellent donor stewardship of donor portfolio.
  • Regularly performs research to identify prospective supporters.
  • Oversees day-to-day activities and operations of the Tri-State finance team.
  • Set and execute a calendar of regular programming, including calls, events, meetings, and political activities.
  • Write and disseminate regular communications to National Finance Committee members and potential donors.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.
