About The Position

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for leading the budgeting and forecasting processes across the North American region, financial evaluations, due diligence and strategies on driving the financial growth of the North America business, with a strong emphasis on commercial finance. This role involves financial evaluations, due diligence, and strategies to drive the financial growth of the North America business, particularly in collaboration with the Commercial Sales Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, specifically in Finance or Accounting.
  • 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, with a strong background supporting a Commercial Sales organization
  • Strong experience and knowledge in US GAAP and consolidation.
  • Experience with SAP, or similar, and financial consolidation systems (Cognos).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively in a large organization.
  • Be an effective and persuasive verbal and written communicator, both one-on-one and in a group setting.
  • Sound judgment in handling difficult challenges with solid business and external market trend acumen.
  • Creative leader with the executive presence and professional demeanor to represent the corporation in key meetings, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Commercial Sales Leader to support sales reporting, business partnering, and ensuring all stakeholders on the finance side are aligned and effective.
  • Own the North American commercial P&L, ensuring accurate financial performance management and alignment with business goals.
  • Drive performance against key metrics with a focus on continuous improvement of commercial performance and processes.
  • Create and achieve a desired future state through influence on company values, individual and group goals, execution of plans, value reinforcements, and systems.
  • Work effectively with both direct and indirect organizations to accomplish company goals; taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others.
  • Lead and operate successfully in a global environment and be a change agent for creating cultural awareness.
  • Develop team members’ skills and competencies by planning effective development activities, stretch assignments related to current and future positions and needs.
  • Work closely with functional support organizations to effectively achieve goals. Presenting ideas effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to motivate and inspire both direct and indirect organizations through effectively articulating the opportunities and challenges throughout the organization.
  • Develop the team with the skills required to be successful; promote the behavior supporting the company’s values. Utilize P4G/D4G to develop the team. Provide timely and continuous feedback to the team; create individual development plans for the key talents to prepare them for future opportunities.
  • Lead projects across cross functional teams to increase overall organizational efficiency.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end closings; ensure accurate and timely submissions to the HQ.
  • Analyze and evaluate monthly financial performance in relation to budget and prior periods and forecasts.
  • Provide accurate explanations for variances and support country managers to determine countermeasures.
  • Perform ad hoc financial control duties as required.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • As Officer of the Board of Nobel US, the role has the responsibility and legal duty to implement whatever measures are necessary to ensure that products, practices, processes, or other activities comply with the law.
