We are seeking a hands-on Finance Director/Controller to serve as the company's senior finance leader. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role provides strategic financial leadership and oversees accounting, financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, internal controls, and financial systems. The Finance Director/Controller will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving operational performance, and providing the financial insight needed to guide decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
3+ years of leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Experience leading month-end and year-end close processes.
Experience working with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and external business partners.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/ERP systems.

CPA, CMA, or MBA.
Public accounting experience.
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, industrial, reseller, or related operating environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team by providing financial insights, recommendations, and analysis to support growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
Develop and communicate key financial and business performance metrics, including revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and other KPIs.
Support strategic planning, capital investment decisions, and business initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.
Provide timely reporting and business updates to leadership, ownership, lenders, and other stakeholders.
Lead all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, collections, and cash management.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Direct annual budgeting and forecasting activities while partnering with department leaders across the organization.
Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast and communicate key risks, opportunities, and trends.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other professional partners.
Manage banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, borrowing base reporting, debt obligations, and covenant compliance.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes to safeguard company assets and support sound decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
Lead and develop the Accounting/Finance team.
Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and development plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service.
Support the effective use and ongoing improvement of ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and related technologies.
