About The Position

Lumos is looking for a full-time Finance Data Analyst. As a Finance Data Analyst, you will play a critical part in collecting, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate is data-driven, business-focused, and experienced in data mining, cleansing, and visualization. You will work closely with finance leadership and collaborate across departments – including Business Development, Engineering, Construction, and IT – to deliver accurate, data-backed insights that drive innovation and growth. Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret a variety of instructions in different forms (written, oral, diagram, or schedule).
  • Experience in creating dashboards that use relevant data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle pressure, maintain respect for others, and take responsibility for actions.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proficient in Power BI and Snowflake
  • Ability to quickly learn additional platforms as needed.
  • Familiar with data mining principles, including mapping and collecting data from multiple systems (on-premises and cloud-based).
  • Capable of synthesizing complex data, researching, and using intuition to complement data.
  • 2+ years of experience working with large datasets and reporting tools. (Power BI or Tableau)
  • Experience writing or updating scripts for data extraction and analysis.
  • Proven background in BI and Analytics.
  • Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in finance or accounting a plus.
  • Experience with Power-Automate and AI tools (e.g., Chat GPT, Claude) a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards is recommended; familiarity with agile development processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support data integrity and normalization initiatives.
  • Generate reports from multiple systems.
  • Create Power BI dashboards to improve visibility and provide real-time analytics.
  • Ensure data quality through tagging and quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in developing reports and analysis.
  • Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletions.
  • Design and maintain the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Support the data warehouse by identifying and revising reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement new or upgraded software, supporting strategic decisions on new systems.
  • Troubleshoot reporting database issues and reports.
  • Assess changes and updates to source production systems.
  • Anticipate future needs related to people, technology, budget, and business, and design solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develop automation and eliminate manual work using tools like Power-Automate and AI. (e.g., Chat GPT, Claude)
  • Ensure data accuracy and deliverables by following comprehensive policies and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including departmental and cross-functional projects.
