The Finance Controller is responsible for developing, training, advising, and supporting the Payroll and Revenue Audit teams. This role directs the timely and accurate reporting of the property's financial position, ensuring the integrity of all financial data and the quality of management operations in the audit areas. The Controller monitors financial activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls from various commissions and regulatory bodies. A working knowledge of GAAP standards is maintained, along with timely financial report completion. The position also involves maintaining good relationships with regulatory bodies, preparing financial data as requested, and ensuring adherence to specific property policies and regulations related to gaming and financial compliance. The Finance Controller serves on key committees, reviews daily financial reports, journal entries, and financial results, and addresses potential conflicts or misinformation in departmental reports. A high level of property-wide service and satisfaction in financial aspects is a key objective. Performance and progress in Payroll and Revenue Audit are evaluated, with adjustments made to standards and procedures as needed. The role acts as a liaison for financial questions from other departments and facilitates information flow through regular meetings. Accountability for accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports is paramount. An employee engagement strategy is to be created and utilized, incorporating feedback and communication. All other duties as assigned will also be performed.
