About The Position

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner who will be responsible for preparing both monthly program-level and corporate-level financial results that accurately reflect the financial health of the organization. You will work autonomously to analyze financial results, collaborate with Directors and Managers of assigned programs or business units, and provide analytical insights into operational decisions. Your role will involve leading the quarterly forecasting process, developing annual operating plans and budgets, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial and statistical reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience, including month-end close, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with operational leaders and influencing clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience in a large, multi-site or multi-business-line environment with complex COA/high cost-centre volume.
  • Experience with Ministry of Health reporting and Post Construction Operating Plans (PCOP).
  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex financial and statistical data.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources to produce complex analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with major ERP systems or healthcare financial modules and Business Intelligence tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital/healthcare finance experience supporting clinical portfolios such as Surgery and Oncology.
  • Exposure to Meditech or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Ontario hospital activity/volume metrics and funding levers.
  • Experience leading change in new system implementations.
  • Degree in business or relevant program of study, with a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial results for both program-level and corporate-level operations.
  • Analyze financial outcomes and collaborate with Directors/Managers to interpret operational decisions.
  • Lead the quarterly forecasting process, identifying trends and strategies for budget management.
  • Collaborate with programs to develop annual operating plans and budgets, improving financial performance.
  • Engage in strategic problem-solving for clinical and non-clinical programs across the organization.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and statistical reporting, adhering to reporting timetables.
  • Prepare and submit key Ministry financial and statistical documents and reports.
  • Coordinate and submit Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care reports.
  • Develop customized reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, including internal policies, MIS Guidelines, and Canadian GAAP.
  • Provide support in case costing and MIS reporting as required.
