About The Position

The College of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications for a Finance/Budget Manager to support the Department of Chemistry. As a Finance/Budget Manager, you will serve as the principal fiscal advisor and budget authority, providing comprehensive financial and administrative support. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the administrative and financial operations including fiscal analysis, financial accountability, budgeting and resource allocation. As the Finance/Budget Manager you will also supervise and direct the work of fiscal support staff, ensuring efficient operations. Additionally, you will be accountable for the allocation and management of resources and achievement of programmatic and financial objectives. In collaboration with the department and/or school leadership, you will participate in planning efforts and implement departmental and university policies and procedures to support institutional goals. The assigned areas may be adjusted at the discretion of the College of Arts & Sciences, to meet changing goals and needs of the college and university.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet, database, word processing, e-mail, and calendaring software.
  • Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 2 years of fiscal experience in an academic department in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with WSU systems.
  • Experience with Workday system.
